Fire Cider is a great wake-up call on its own but you can amp up your morning shot with a few extra ingredients to really kick-start your day.
Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is amazingly effective for inflammation but it needs a little help to do what it does best. Dried turmeric is fat-soluble, which also makes it easier for your body to absorb, so make sure that you've got a healthy fat in the mix. Adding black pepper - loaded with piperin - makes that curcumin more bioavailable, boosting its effects.
- 1/2 cup water of your favorite fresh juice
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 1 tbsp Fire Cider
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1. Drop everything right into your glass, give it a stir, and down it!
